Instrument Repairs
The Violin Shop has performed setup, repair and restoration work for some of the world's most renowned violinists and fiddlers over the past 30 years. Our excellent staff of luthier's have studied and apprenticed with some of the most highly regarded violin and bow restorers and makers in the trade. We are committed to keeping up to date with the latest repair techniques and we are all accomplished players which gives The Violin Shop something many repair shops don't have, a players perspective.
Appraisals
Schedule an Appointment
Scheduling an appointment for a consultation with a customer repair specialist will ensure that close and careful attention is paid to you and your instrument’s needs. If the allotted 15-minute appointment is not enough time to completely assess the instrument, we may require that the instrument be left for further examination.
INSURANCE APPRAISALS
The Violin Shop offers written appraisals for insurance purposes. This appraisal includes a description of the instrument, identifying details, important measurements, and an assigned replacement value of the instrument based on current market prices. The cost of an insurance appraisal is 1% of the appraisal value, with a minimum of $50. To have your instrument appraised please call the shop to make an appointment. This process can take up to one week.
Note: We cannot write an appraisal based on photos but instead need to have the instrument or bow present.
