A violin, made and labeled by Don Eckland in 1977. The violin has a one-piece back of narrow flamed maple, with the flame descending from left to right.
Eckland’s instruments feature a very fine oil varnish of his own making, often antiqued. Some have name stamped on the top block. Eckland’s violin making features very fine workmanship, and he received a certificate for workmanship at the 1978 VSA competition.
